Sweet-Sixteen. Miller Park is set to turn Sixteen this April. Before the Brewers take the field in front of some of the most loyal fans in baseball; Lets take a look at the history of Miller Park.<\/p>\n

Miller Park was built in 2001, debuting April 6, VS.\u00a0the Reds. The cost to build started at $382 million dollars, the club only offered $90million leaving taxes to cover the rest. The stadium plans were presented in 1995 when a long financial dispute prolonged the construction until the next year. Miller brewing company’s contract to sponsor the stadium runs dry in 2020 but plans to renegotiate\u00a0look promising. Ironically, for a measly $2.1 million dollars per year Miller sponsors the stadium with the most yearly beer sales. Now thats\u00a0good consumer relationship.<\/p>\n

Miller Park has given us some great memories including the 2002 All-Star Game, Home Run Derby, A-Rods 400th career dinger, Prince Fielders, franchise record, 50 home runs in 2007, and shooting of the movie “Mr. 3000” starring Bernie Mac.<\/p>\n

Replacing county stadium in 2001, Miller Park became\u00a0more than just a ball diamond, hosting soccer games, multiple concerts, and several special events. In addition\u00a0to four bases and fence, Miller Park offers a TGI Fridays, children’s play area, Hall of Fame, a team store, Bernies slide, and the best atmosphere in baseball. The fun does not stop there, a plethora of suits and lounges give an intimate experience with friends. Conferences, weddings, holiday and graduation parties bring everyone together in the best setting in southern Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
