Troubling News For Brewers Closer Jeffress

One of the Brewers key players ending last year and throughout the playoffs, Jeremy Jeffress is now expected to miss the rest of spring training and possibly even some of the beginning of the regular season.

Jeffress was pitching in a game the other day against the Diamondbacks where on consecutive pitches the radar gun read in at 83-84 mph respectively. For a man who’s average fastball last year averaged 94-95 mph this was a concern for coaches. Jeffress was pulled out of the game and said he felt no pain, which is a good sign for Brewer fans hopefully meaning there is no surgery required but more so just more rest and strengthening. The Brewers goal with Jeffress right now is to take their time with the pitcher and give him the rest he needs while working with him personally to strengthen his arm back to health. They said there is no timetable for his return, but just to make sure that they can get him back to mid-season form before he returns. Hopefully moving forward he can get healthy soon because as mentioned earlier he was a crucial part of the Brewers success.
