Bryce Harper Finally Agrees on Record Deal

This past Thursday on February 28th, of 2019 Bryce Harper is now the MLB’s owner of having the largest contract in the history of the game. The former Washington National has signed a deal worth $330 million over the course of 13 years.

Even though Manny Machado is receiving more money per year, Bryce Harper is obtaining more money overall. With Bryce Harper being 26 years old currently, this means the Philadelphia Phillies own the rights to this man until he’s 39, unless he gets traded.  With two teams this off-season signing these insane max contract deals, is this going to be a trend that we start seeing more of year in and year out by the games elite players? This is just one thing we’ll have to keep an eye on and see if players really start going for these franchise deals. Now that many of the big free agents can be crossed off of teams checklists we can look forward to what awaits us 26 days from now which is Opening Day. This is where we’ll get to see all of these new players on their respective teams and see how these teams end up doing.
