{"id":3250,"date":"2019-09-05T16:49:15","date_gmt":"2019-09-05T16:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/appletoneric\/?p=3250"},"modified":"2019-09-05T16:51:45","modified_gmt":"2019-09-05T16:51:45","slug":"resort-76","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uww.edu\/appletoneric\/2019\/09\/05\/resort-76\/","title":{"rendered":"Resort 76"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Since May, we&#8217;ve been working on designs for a production of Shimon Wencelberg&#8217;s &#8220;Resort 76.&#8221;  Now that school has started, we&#8217;re plunging right into rehearsals.  Since May and during the summer, I&#8217;ve been working on the set design, and coordinating with a scaffold company on all the bits we&#8217;ll need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bruce Cohen, the director, is going for an immersive experience for the audience, so we&#8217;ve pulled the seating into the middle of the space and surrounded the audience with the action.  We&#8217;re collaborating with the music and art departments on projections and soundscaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s an early preliminary sketch of the center section:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/UlK8yWp\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/UlK8yWp.jpg?1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And a work up in Sketchup to plan with the scaffolding company:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/imgur.com\/B6khNgo\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/B6khNgo.jpg?1\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With the various levels that the scaffolding provides, it was important to put together a model to have in rehearsal.
