Happy Thanksgiving UW-Whitewater – safe travels to everyone as they head home for food, family, and football!
In the push for the end of the semester, if you let everything else slip your mind, the one thing to remember during this mini-break is that finals are fast approaching. Now, don’t cram your backpack with study materials for the long weekend. Instead, review and gain insight for your final projects and test by leveraging your family and friends!
Okay, picture that you’re at the dinner table eating when the dreaded question is asked, “How is school?”
You stop, fork in midair, and think for a second. To yourself, you think, “what one word can I use to answer this question?”
STOP…
Instead of just saying, “good” use this time to converse to your advantage. Tell your family and friends about an up coming project or test. Who knows, you may very well come out of dinner with an amazing new project idea or a great resource in a particular subject area.
Who knows, you could even walk away from dinner with a new contact for a job or internship for the summer!
Take away: Don’t ever stop networking, prove that you are passionate about what you’re learning in school, and have a great Thanksgiving!
