Welcome: Claudio D’Agostino

Please welcome Claudio D’Agostino, our new Director of Application Development. Claudio will lead the Application Development, Middleware and Business Intelligence (BI) Project teams. Today is his first day in the office.

Claudio comes to us from Quad Graphics in the Milwaukee area, where he was the Director of IT for the company’s holdings in Latin America. At Quad Graphics, he was responsible for directing strategic and daily operations of the IT platform for 11 production facilities located in six different countries. His day-to-day duties included developing business IT applications/solutions and leading initiatives to transition regional functions into an integrated corporate platform. Claudio also worked extensively with Quad Graphic’s Business Intelligence and ERP platforms. In total, Claudio has nearly 15 years of IT management experience.

Welcome Shane Degen!

Please welcome our new LMS Administrator and Student Advocate, Shane Degen. Shane is part of the LTC team, and will provide day-to-day support and maintenance for D2L – our campus learning management system (LMS). Shane is a UW-Whitewater alum, and has extensive experience with online education and D2L, along with other LMS systems. Prior to joining our team, Shane worked as a math instructor for the Wisconsin Virtual Academy where he taught online courses using D2L. Today is Shane’s first day in the office, welcome back to campus!

Welcome Louann Gilbertson

Please welcome our newest team member, IT Security and Compliance Officer, Louann Gilbertson. Her first day in the office was Wednesday, September 14.

As the IT security officer, Louann is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of IT security policies and and regulatory compliance, controls and programs for the campus. She comes to ICIT from a private insurance company in the Madison area where she worked in a similar IT security role. Along with her enterprise-level IT security experience, she also has experience working with the stringent IT security standards of the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Prior to work in IT security, Louann was an applications developer.

Louann’s position is shared between UW-Whitewater and UW-Platteville. (Go Pioneers Warhawks!) As a result, she will split her time between both campuses. She will be on the UW-Whitewater campus at least one day per week (Wednesdays), and will also work remotely. She can be contacted via phone or Jabber when she is working remotely.

 

Welcome Kyle Windsor

Please welcome our newest team member, (senior) systems analyst Kyle Windsor. His first day in the office will be Wednesday, September 14. Kyle’s main role is to design and implement applications for the campus’s Oracle Campus Solutions enterprise system. Along with developing and implementing PeopleSoft solutions, Kyle will also provide PeopleSoft application support and assist with upgrades.

Kyle comes to UW-Whitewater from a PeopleSoft Applications Development role at a Milwaukee-based company that specializes in vendor management system (VMS) applications. He brings significant development experience using PeopleCode, along with developing and integrating mobile APIs with PeopleSoft applications.

Welcome Jason Pummer!

ICIT, please welcome our newest team member, network operator technician Jason Pummer. Jason’s duties include monitoring and managing several NOC systems, facilitating campus scanning services and NOC-related problem solving.

Jason is also a Warhawk alum. He has a bachelor’s degree in information technology, with an emphasis on security. Welcome back to campus Jason.
