  • The main points about our organization

The Muse is UW-Whitewater’s literary arts magazine, run by students for students. We are dedicated to offering a platform for Undergraduate writers and artists to exhibit their work. Currently, The Muse accepts submissions from September 1st to February 28th. New issues are published each spring semester.

  • Previous Events – Colette & Danielle

The Muse has two main events each year. In the Fall, we host a Trivia Night open to all students who’d like to participate. In the Spring, we host Muse Night, a showcase and celebration of the published student work, held near the end of the second semester. We hope you will consider submitting your work to us; we would love to see it!

  • Upcoming Events – Michael

The Muse is currently working on a special edition publication to highlight Black voices in our community. As the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others provoked Americans to reckon with the ongoing violence and subjugation against Black citizens in this country, The Muse feels that as a nation and as a university we find ourselves at a uniquely crucial moment in history, one that has instilled in us a conviction to create a special edition that highlights the Black voices and artists in our community. We are currently accepting submissions for poems, essays, short stories, and art from students, faculty, and administrators on campus. Our plans are to publish this issue during the Spring of 2021.

In addition to this exciting news, we have the honor of working on the publication of our 50th-anniversary edition! We are currently accepting stories, poems, or a work of art from current UWW students AND alumni who published in The Muse when they were students. We are thrilled to contribute to The Muse’s outstanding legacy by creating a dynamic publication that features the most exceptional artistry that UWW has fostered both now, and over the past 50 years.
