What does an average day look like? What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

I am proud to supervise 10 hardworking students who provide excellent customer service at every ticketed event across campus.  I can usually be found in my office, building every ticketed event, as well as maintaining them in our ticketing software. The one thing I do every day is calculate where all funds from sales need to be deposited. Every day is ever changing; managing the complexities of events for 7 departments takes a person who is always thinking outside the box. My brain is often thinking how the software would think to make sure everything is functioning properly.

What does being a UC employee mean to you?

Working for the UC means I have a team of dedicated people who are always willing to lend a helping hand. It’s difficult at times because I am located in a separate building, but I know I have support when I need it.

What has been the most memorable/unusual day working?

My most memorable moment, was the day we closed the gate on the old office, and moved to our new location. It was January 2016, a former student (Kiley) and I, literally climbed over the counter of the old office to initiate our farewell. The joke was that if you forgot the key to gain access, you’d have to climb the super tall counter to get back in… nearly impossible if you’re short!

What is one piece of advice you can give to current UW-W students?

We’re all in this together! We can lean on each other during this difficult time.

What is an accomplishment you are most proud of?

Becoming manager was no easy task! There was no manual that told me how to do everything there is to do, and I had to figure it out on my own. I’ve always been pretty independent, but had no idea what I was doing or where to begin.  With the support of my student staff I was able to test new business processes and re-establish the way the business should work, as well as write policies and procedures along the way.

What is your favorite item in your office/desk? Is there a story behind it?

Pictures of my family. My absolute favorite photos are the ones of my daughters on the softball field, because that is when they are in their element.
