Reading is to the mind, what exercise is to the body.

Who has time for reading something other than a textbook? Yes, it sometimes can seem difficult to find time to pick up a book just for fun. But at the same time, how many seasons of a random TV show on Netflix have you binge-watched? If you have seen every episode of Friends that is a grand total of 3 full days, 17 hours, and 32 minutes of your life. Therefore, it is definitely possible to find some time during the week to read a book of your choice, and here are some of the reasons why you should…

Stress Reduction/ Relaxing

Obviously reading is better for your brain, than TV. Reading can truly relax you. All the things you worry about sort of drift away for a bit when you get lost in a great story.

Vocabulary Expansion

Everyone wants to sound more intelligent, and by reading it is inevitable that you will learn new words. The more you read, the more words you learn. This can also be an added bonus when you are interviewing for a new job or working on your resume!

Better Writing

Along with expanding your vocabulary, reading can also help you become a better writer. Reading helps you find new inspiration and develops your knowledge in different genres. These are skills that will help you excel throughout your life.
