About me

What does it mean to be a Warlock? Power. Only Warlocks understand true power. True power lies within knowledge and intellect. In understanding how power is channeled, not controlled.” -Ikora Ray warlock vanguard

It was the first lesson I learned as her student, and the most important.

My name is Mirra, and when I was little I would always look up at the stars and admire their beauty, most feared the darkness that lay beyond them but I wasn’t afraid, I was curious. I wanted to explore the galaxy, to find those answers and to protect humanity, I wanted to be a guardian. I loved reading about the guardians and learning of their great deeds, their extraordinary ability to harness the Travelers light as a raw weapon. When the time came to choose it wasn’t clear to me who I wanted to be, I had to be willing to reshape my old self into something new. Hunters, cunning. swift and quick with a glade, the lone wolf as most would call them. sounded appealing enough, it would allow me to survive on my own, scouting and exploring.  Titans, strong, the embodiment of raw power, the front line of our forces. Too brutish for me, I wanted to defeat the city but not become a literal shield. Warlocks, intelligent, knowledge holders and despite being the more reclusive order people looked to them for wisdom. I wasn’t certain but there was something out the mystery behind their order that sparked my curiosity but most citizens saw them as arrogant, always hiding away in their books. Libraries and books wasn’t how I was going to find answers, so I chose to pursue the life of a huntress.

What does it mean to be a Hunter? I say, it’s all about where you belong. The Warlocks have their libraries, the Titans have their walls…But Hunters belong in the wilds.“— Cayde-6 hunter vanguard

I wanted to be that cunning hunter scouting the wilds for answers, talking down a foe with a single knife throw, I had passion and determination but my biggest mistake was thinking that we chose who we wanted to be. I eventually fell behind  in my training, despite my determination it just felt forced, I wasn’t the first and Cayde spotted it fairly early on my training, he pulled me aside and explained to me that it was much more complex than training, we didn’t choose who we wanted to be but instead, set out to pursue who we where destined to be. I was heartbroken and he could see it, instead of sending me on my way he took me to a friend of his, the Warlock Vanguard Ikora Rey.

Warlocks may be thinkers, but most I know can hold their own, constantly pushing the boundaries of knowledge. “—Lord Shaxx Crucible Handler

She was intimidating to say the least, I was still young at the time and almost in tears, but she knelt down to me and put her hand on my shoulder. “oh sweat child, you may not know it yet but you have already taken the first steps towards greatness, you failed.” I was confused at first but came to understand, I looked back at her with watery but fierce eyes, ” then whats next?”. She smiled, and it was then I started my training as a warlock.

knowledge is your greatest weapon and you have much to learn…, Guardian.“—Ikora Rey

Warlocks were the first to tap the power of the Traveler, wielding its light as they ventured beyond the safety of the Shield. They know each discovery offers new possibilities, and they have devoted themselves to understanding the Traveler, its power, and to channel that power. A Warlock mind is an arsenal of deadly secrets, balanced between godhood and madness. On the battlefield, those secrets can shatter reality itself. They search the frontier to find a means to defeat the Darkness once and for all.
