What a gift and privileged it was to witness the vision of Oprah Winfrey: giving back and making a difference in the lives of young people who will in turn “give back”.

I would have loved living in dorm rooms like these at Creighton University, back in the day.

The academy’s library (my favourite place anywhere) is designed for the encouragement of independent reading. If you entered the school as a non-reader of great books it wouldn’t be long before you became an avid reader. Oprah Winfrey’s love of books and reading is so apparent in the shelving layout. A fireplace in Creighton’s library would have been a welcomed addition too.

My fourth Safari in Southern Africa and what do you know, I finally get to see lions in their natural environment. But, I prayed that our paths would not cross on my first ever walking safari. The walking safari included guides identifying unique birds, plant life and tracking animals; and yes, tracking them by the dung and toilet holes. And no, I did not wear this red vest on foot. LOL.
