After Thursday night’s win for the Milwaukee Bucks the picture is becoming more clear. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the MVP of the 2019 NBA season.

Antetokounmpo proved it again as put up a game-high 29 points which helped his team defeat the Pacers 117-98. If that wasn’t enough Antetokonump made it a double-double as he added 12 rebounds on the night.

Antetokounmpo is the main reason why the Bucks are 1st in the Eastern Conference and why they won their most recent game.

Having his presence on the court consistently fires his team up when they need a jolt. That was evident on Thursday night as Antetokounmpo’s high octane energy even after a technical foul, sparked a much needed run in the 3rd quarter for the Bucks as they pulled away. He dunked 3 times within the contest.

Antetokounmpo’s influence on his teammates play is dangerously contagious.

During the Buck’s 13-0 run during the game, Antetokounmpo’s teammates followed suit and went on a tear. Fans saw Brook Lopez drain a deep three and Khris Middleton go on a personal 6-0 run.

Lopez finished with 13 points, Eric Bledsoe added 12, and Khris Middleton put up a whopping 27 points on the night, falling 2 shy of Antetokounmpo’s 29.

After the win the Milwaukee Bucks remain 1st in the Eastern Conference with an overall record of 49-16. They are currently up 3 games ahead of the Toronto Raptors.

Right now, Giannis Antetokounmpo is better than your favorite player. He is playing better team ball than your favorite player, and that let alone should be regarded as the most important element in any sport.

Last year, the Bucks barely made it into the NBA playoffs at the 7th seed with a 44-38 record. Two years ago in 2017, they barely snuck into the playoffs yet again, entering as the 6th seed with a record of 42-40.

Antetokounmpo was arguably the reason they made the playoffs in both those years. This season has been the epiphany during the Antetokounmpo era as now he can be the leader he’s always wanted to be with talented surrounding him.

Antetokounmpo is currently 5th in league with 45 double-doubles. 7th in scoring with 27 points per game and 5th in rebounds per game with 12.6.

Those might not be the top numbers among stats leaders, but Antetokounmpo is playing to his team’s strengths and successes. He is turning in big and clutch performances night in and night out for the Bucks.

Just remember that his team is the best in the league right now atop the Eastern Conference standings. Giannis Atetokounmpo is the most valuable player to that franchise.
