Although I get about 5-20 spams per day I feel I can manage them, even though they are annoying and do seem to be increasing. I wonder if I am doing all I can to filter them out. Is is possible for ICIT to offer a workshop on how to filter out/manage spam on our UWW email accounts.

I receive about 2 to 10 SPAM messages a day. This doesn't take that much time to delete. However, when considering the total amount of time each day that UWW staff & students spend deleting SPAM messages, it seems that it would be more cost effective for the Unviersity to have less SPAM getting through.

I get plenty of SPAM, but I would rather just delete that than have to remember to check another folder for legitimate messages. I'm more concerned about not getting an important message than with needing to delete a lot of messages, most of which are obviously SPAM and take very little time to identify. Actually, sometimes it's a relief to discover that I don't have to answer 60% of what's in my mailbox!

Each morning when I pull up my email account, I spend as much as ten minutes some days getting rid of SPAM. Some I have come to recognize and others I have to check to make sure they are not legitimate messages. Some of the material being received is simply rude. I would appreciate a higher level of filtering. I would be much faster for me to retrieve any that get filtered.

The spam problem has caused me to waste alot time dealing with it, especially since we have an office account and my own UW account so I end up deleting twice. It has also caused my mailbox to get full when I've been on vacation.
I'd prefer to have the school very active in controling this, even if it means the stuff goes into a spam folder where I can then quickly glance for legit email and then just delete it all at once.

The university should block the most obvious spam. It would be fine for us to have the option to control it but the automatic settings should be higher and then be able to lessen it if we really want to. One less thing to deal with, means I can spend my time on more valuable projects.

I would rather delete the ones that are spam myself. It only takes a few seconds. It takes longer to go through the junk to look for legitimate emails.

I too would like to see the e-mails in Russian filtered. I have managed to filter out e-mails with certain words in the body or subject lines. This has put an end to a lot of the e-mails with drug names or sexual references from getting through.

Spam is very humerous but takes much time from other tasks. I receive about 20 to 30 spam messages per day. That is too much.

It's not a big problem for me. I receive 1 or 2 spam messages a day. I don't know if it's possible or how to customize filters in my e-mail program. Information on that would be helpful

I don't see spam as much of an issue. I like the set up ICIT currently has in place. It has been my experience that as long as you block the senders when you get emails you don't want, there is not an escalation of junk mail.
