Ever have a problem with your HTML, CSS or JavaScript, but you’re not sure how to fix it? Firebug might be a very helpful tool for you. Firebug is an addon for Firefox that puts a wealth of web development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.

Firebug is indeed a powerful tool especially for web designers. But Google Chrome has an inbuilt tool accessible through “Inspect Element” option which seems to be a little better than Firebug.
