I avoided watching this movie, just got tired of watching sports movie (Rudy, Rudy, Rudy) but I broke down and surfed the net until I found a copy of it. Got on my thread mill and was riveted to this film. Mickey R gave a commanding performance as a broken down wrestler with a bad heart who tries to find redemption by reconciling with his estranged daughter and love with a stripper.  He was warned that if he continued wrestling he would die, as his heart could not take the stress and physical exertion. After failures in his person life, he came to the realization that all he had in the world were his fans. So he returns to the ring and certain death. MJ was estranged from his family, divorced, surrounded by sharks, realizes that all he has are his fans. So, like the wrestler, he agrees to give 50 concerts. So in a strange way MJ killed himself. I read someplace that he was going to retire permanently in Vegas. So watch the Wrestler and we want to hear from you.
