5 tips of self-motivation

1. Slogan or Phrase

Find a slogan or phrase that really sparks up motivation within you. This can be a religious scripture, saying from a mentor, or simply your life motto. Establish something, other than YOLO, that will boost your motivation from within and keep you on task. Say this slogan or phrase to yourself daily, even write it on your mirror, to continuously remind yourself to stay motivated.

2. Peaks

Remember why you are doing what you are doing at all times, and constantly remind yourself of what you have already accomplished. This is especially valuable in a situation where you feel like the world is on your shoulders. Simply recall the great obstacles you have once tackled, and take on new challenges knowing that you have overcome others before. Recalling peak monuments, or highs of your life, will help you motivate you through lows.

3. Do Less

Too often we take on too many tasks at once and become unmotivated to complete all task by a deadline. If you simply decrease your load, you will be more likely to stay motivated to complete necessary tasks. No one likes to do unnecessary work, so don’t. Simply do task that are reasonable and realistic for you.

4. Precious Time

Time is precious and we never get it back. If you have to get something done, do it in the time you allotted for it to be completed. If you don’t, you may not get the task done, and you for sure will not get the time back. Use your time wisely.

5. Remind yourself

Keep constant reminders to stay motivated. Write your slogan everywhere, keep photos of your accomplishments, or remind yourself of how precious your time truly is. Doing this will constantly remind you to remain motivated.
