Welcome to Praveen Parboteeah’s Website


Professor Parboteeah is the COBE Distinguished Professor and Director of the Doctorate of Business Administration program at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. He teaches in the areas of business policy and strategy, business ethics, international management, and scientific method in business at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. He has received numerous teaching awards and is included in multiple editions of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Master Teacher and Teaching Scholar. He was recently featured in the ‘Why I Teach‘ series.

He has published over 50 publications in the field’s top journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, and Organization Science.  He reviews regularly for many of the field’s top journals and is a member of the editorial board of Journal of International Business Studies, International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management and Management International Review.  He is also a senior editor at the Journal of Business Ethics, the leading business ethics journal.

Parboteeah has received many research awards including the Ascendant Scholar Award from the Western Academy of Management and the 2015 Research Award in the College of Business & Economics.   In a recent ranking of business ethics scholars, Parboteeah was ranked 8th in the world for his publications in the field’s leading journals. He also ranks 20th in the International Management category on Google Scholar. He is also among only two faculty members to win the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater Research Award twice.

Parboteeah has been very involved on the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater campus.  He has served on numerous committees in various leadership capacities.  Parboteeah’s academic and practical experience has also been very instrumental in developing the only doctorate on the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater campus, namely the Doctor of Business Administration.  His practical experience with other doctoral programs has helped develop a strong curriculum that allows students with significant practical experience to learn about superior research methodologies to solve practical problems.  The program will soon welcome its eighth cohort under Parboteeah’s leadership.
