It took me about a day and a half to come across/observe 50 ads.
1. In the past couple of days, I noticed a flyer posted on the floor of my hall. This flyer so happen to catch my attention because of the dollar amount per hour it had on it for the job it was advertising about. The dollar amount caught my attention because most jobs on the campus of Wisconsin-Whitewater pay minimum wage, however this one happened to pay $12 per hour. In addition, the flyer had visible print and the color of the sheet of paper was bright. As a college student that doesn’t make an extravagant amount of money and who happens to be in need of extra money for expenses, I became intrigued. In the case of this marketing strategy, the flyer catered to my needs tremendously.
2. In addition to the flyer, while scrolling down my timeline on social media, I came across a post from one of my friends I have added on social media that caught my attention. The post was about her asking her friends and/or family to donate money if they can to Sickle Cell Warriors for her birthday, instead of giving her gifts. This is one of the more memorable advertisements I came across because she was asking for donations for a good cause and most people that I know would rather receive gifts for their birthday rather than donate to others.
3. The last memorable advertisement that I observed in the last couple days was an email sent to me from a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater adviser. In the email, the adviser offered me an opportunity to participate in the 2019-2020 CoBE Professional Development Program. It stood out to me because I’m a student who happens to be in the College of Business and Economic (CoBe) whose being look for development and leader opportunities that I could add to my resume. This opportunity that this gentleman happens to be advertising or promoting is something that I can legitimately use to benefit me.

How long did it take for you to reach 50 ads? I would say it took me about an entire day to reach 50 ads. Ads were everywhere I went on campus, and even when I was in my room watching movies. I didn’t realize how many ads I encountered daily until I was given this assignment. I found most of my ads on social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
1. One ad that stood out to me was about Apple TV. Previous to this assignment I had already seen a lot of ads about Apple TV. The ad I saw was promoting the Apple TV app and what kinds of television shows they have available. I’m also a pretty big Apple fan, so I tend to pay more attention to ads about products I want or already own.
2. The second ad I remember is an online clothing website called, Shein. I have ordered from their website, and I also have the app on my phone. I see ads about Shein on my Facebook and Instagram the most. I love their fashion and the price range for their clothing isn’t too expensive. Shein has a low-cost range but good quality material clothing.
3. The last ad I remember is about getting YouTube premium. I’m on YouTube a lot and the premium ad comes up at least three times when I’m using the regular YouTube app. I listen to music, watch tutorials, and vlogs all on YouTube.

It took me almost a day and a half to reach more than 50 adds.
I don’t watch TV that much but since it was the weekend and I went to Madison to visit my family, so I watched TV alongside them. While I was watching news and movie with my family, I found/watched 7 different adds. I was doing my math practice also listening songs on youtube where I noticed 20 different adds. I am very active on Facebook and Instagram, while I was checking Facebook and Instagram I found 30 adds. Plus on my way to and from madison, I saw few billboards with Gieco add and also listened to Gieco add on radio.
I remember three advertisements which spings out among other i.e. Geico, Clinique and Macy’s Fall Fashion Commerical.
Geico:- I was looking for best car insurance and while I was watching Fox news channel, Geico commercial caught my eye. Their commercial is also cunning, humorous and very eye-catchy. One of my friends also recommended this car insurance because of its service. It is cheaper than what I had before and the same coverage.
Clinique:- I love Clinique products, it is very good for my sensitive skin. I am a regular customer of clinique. when I was using Instagram, I saw their moisture surge (Clinique moisturizer) add and I saved the picture to buy following weekend. The commercial was very interesting and attractively designed which said “it is really hydrating the skin and for flawless skin”, which I think is a well designed line.
Macy’s Fall Fashion Commercial:- I love Macy’s and the products sold there. They are a little pricy but they have good quality and beautiful products. So I always check advertisements if they have a sale or not. Who doesn’t like deals, so do I and they have lot of deals in their Fashion commercial. I also figured out they have a very beautiful fall collection from TV.

It took me less than a day to reach 50. The Packer game and Brewer’s game had many TV ads on Thursday. In addition, I went home and saw a few billboard ads on the way and listened to the radio. Lastly, Instagram and Twitter always have many ads as I scroll through the feed.
Three ads stood out to me compared to the rest of the ads.
Pizza Ranch: Every time I watch a Brewer’s game, Pizza Ranch is one of the main sponsors for the Brewer’s. Pizza Ranch has 3 different ads throughout the game using at least one between innings. The most memorable part of the commercial was a guy eating an entire plate of chicken and said, “This is really good chicken,” as he had chicken in his mouth.
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater: Another sponsor of the Milwaukee Brewers is UWW. This always catches my eye because I go to the school and Craig Coshun, the Brewers post and pre-game reporter, is the voice in the commercial.
NFL: The NFL had a special commercial for the Packers and Bears game on Thursday night football. The commercial had Brett Favre and Bill Swerki’s superfans (for the Bears) discussing the Packers and Bears rivalry. The commercial was sarcastic, funny, and had the memorable “da bears” line.

How long did it take until you reached 50?
It took me less than a day to reach 50 advertisements. I am on my cell phone for a large amount of time during the day, so majority of the ads were on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, or Facebook. When I did any Google search on my phone, I would find about 2-3 advertisements in the search results. The TV ads were from the little amount of football that I watched. Lastly, on my commute to work from Janesville to Madison, I see a great amount of Billboards.
List the top three ads you remember and why?
1. The first ad that I remember seeing is a Jimmy Johns commercial. The family ordering Jimmy Johns puts up a fake house around them in order to have the delivery driver come to them, but they are starting to do delivery locations now, so that was the point of the ad. The ad stood out to me because it was very repetitive. In the time of me watching the Packer game, I probably saw this ad 4-5 times.
2. A few days ago, I searched for car tires on my phone. Ever since then, I see multiple Discount Tire, Autozone, O’Reilly advertisements. These I remember because it was a product that I was intentionally looking for, so I am keeping an eye out for the deals.
3. There is one billboard that continues to stick out to me on the belt line in Madison that has more of a serious message to it. It is an anti-sexual assault advertisement with a crisis hotline phone number. On the billboard, they present a male victim, which stands out more than a female victim because it is less common and less socially accpetable for men to stand up in those situations. The billboard tried to be unique and very bold, so it stands out.

This took me about 2-3 days to reach. In my free time I watch a lot of Youtube and Hulu and that is why I have so many ads in the TV and Online section. On a Youtube video I watched during this past week was an hour and 10 minutes long and just in that video there was 18 ads. One ad I first remember is a Tresemme ad, which is a hair product line. The reason I remember this ad so much is because they really caught your attention with the music and switching of scenes so much. This ad was in a dark background but the actors stood out so much which made it also so capturing. Another ad I remember is an ad for Honey, which is a couponing company for online stores. A lot of times when you watch Youtube ads will pop up on the bottom of the screen where you can either click on the ad or you can exit it out. The reason why I remember this ad so much is because I have always been interested in trying out but also they make the ad look appealing with bright colors and a cool font to bring your attention to the ad. And the last ad I remember is an ad for Clinique which is a makeup and skincare line. The reason why I remember this one is because I really like their products and during the ad they also added tips on how to use the product and other face products. So it wasn’t just a random ad but it actually gave useful information.

I spend about 1-2 hours a day on social media and with in 20-30 minutes of being on Facebook I had been exposed to over 20 adds. It only took me about a day to record 50 ads. It felt like after every few posts from friends or pages that I follow I came across an ad. I was emailed a 10 dollar coupon on Groupon which influenced a lot of the ads that I was seeing on my social media. I was looking into food delivery options and about 60 percent of the ads that I saw on FB were of food delivery services. I listen to Pandora a lot so that’s where the Radio number comes in. I noticed that there were two ads about every 30 min, with either one or two more ads if I was skipping songs.
One out of the three ads that stood out to me was a food service add for Green Chef. It was memorable because it listed the benefits it offered compared to other food services. Like healthier food options, Keto friendly, and fresh produce.
The second ad that was memorable was another food service ad for Every Plate. This ad’s main emphasis was the price. It advertised a sale featuring each plate at 3.33 which beat every other competitors price that I saw on the market.
And the third ad that really stood out was a Tide ad on Pandora. This ad was memorable not because of it’s benefits or because of a sale but because I find the commercial incredibly annoying. From a buyers perspective, finding the ad annoying definitely does not motivate me to buy the product, on the other hand it might slightly influence me to go with one of their competitors instead.

How long did it take for you to reach 50 Ads?
For me to reach 50 ads it took most of the first day. Most of the ads I seen were either on YouTube, Snapchat, or Instagram. This excersize was a bit of an eye opener for me, I didn’t realize how many ads I was being exposed to, with the majority of them coming from my mobile devices.
Top 3 Ads you remember and why?
1. Kwik trip Rewards: I visited a Kwik trip in my hometown and they have fliers posted up on every door, the walls, and countertop promoting their new rewards card. They also asked me if I had a rewards card every time I payed for my items.
2. Mountain dew Commercial: I remember this commercial because it was funny.
3. KFC commercial: I remembered this one because I seen it while I was hungry and it looked appetizing and affordable.
