Music Festivals

January 28th, 2016

I was sitting with my roommate, I asked her what should I right about for my first blog post, she said well what are you passionate about? I kept thinking, and I couldn’t think of what I am passionate about, the reason for that is that, I hate being put on the spot and I’m not too much about me, I think of other before me. So I’ve never really thought of what actually makes me happy, but I came to the conclusion that I love Music Festivals, all types of Music Festivals, why because I love music. I love the idea of thousands of people going to an area to listen to music, to dance, sing their hearts out, enjoy a new music genre, meet new faces and just let the music flow through your veins. The first music festival I attended was Mexican Fiesta, which happens every summer in Milwaukee’s Summerfest Grounds. There I became fascinated with the idea of Music Festivals. Obviously, I was only 7 and I had to be with my parents, but luckily I have a father that enjoys everything besides the traditional Mexican music, don’t get me wrong I love Mariachi, banda, corridos, cumbia but I also love bachata, rock (en español), salsa, mambo, polka and Mexican Folklore. (Sorry for the Spanish words) I loved it, even though it was Mexican Fiesta, there were artists from Colombia, Guatemala, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru and many more countries.

As I became older I began to attend local festivals like Milwaukee’s Summerfest. One time in Chicago, we passed by Lollapalooza and since that day, it has been a dream to attend this festival. Recently I have attended Spring Awakening Music Festival, and one time in Mexico I attended a free festival offered by Alejandro Fernandez (the Mexican Luke Bryan) to fundraise for a tragedy that had occurred that year. There I was able to see artists I never ever ever ever thought I would see. It was one of the most amazing times of my life, I was only 14 at that time. I hope to attend, Ultra Music Festival (Miami), Electric Dance Carnaval, Coachella, Tomorrowland, Montreaux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) ,Vive Latino, Sónar (Spain), Primavera Sound (Spain) and many many many more.

If I had one wish, I would go back to attend Woodstock 1969!!!!!!

Music Festivals are amazing, I have met people from all over the country as well from all of the world. I have seen from my favorite musicians to local bands that I have never heard of. It is incredible, the atmosphere, the love for music, the people, and most importantly the music. Except the lack of sleep that I get, I enjoy every second of it because usually these events are 12 hours long. Music, is one of the most beautiful things to ever exist and that is my strongest virtue to meet people. To tell you that my dad wanted to be a drummer as well as a soccer player, and now I date a drummer, fate is so beautiful! ¡VIVA LA MUSICA!
