UWS Quality Matters Consortium Formed
After a summer of planning, the UWS Quality Matters consortium is finally formed. Campuses participating include UW-Madison, UW- Oshkosh, UW-Superior, UW-LaCrosse, UW-Colleges. The QM consortia campuses are Full subscribers to Quality Matters. They will develop expertise on their own campus in applying the QM rubric in assessing online/hybrid course design, can conduct their own training for peer reviewers, and manage their own online/hybrid course review process if desired. Resources & expertise will be shared among other UW campuses. Contiuing participation is voluntary and depends on a campus or department decision. It is, however, a first step for UW to establish some guideline for online / hybrid course design assessment based on a nationally recognized program.
The LTDC plans to support the initial training for those interested in understanding the QM rubric or being a certified peer reviewer in the near future. The first session will be held at UW Oshkosh in December. Details are being finalized at this point. Please contact your local LTC representative for more information.
