The University of Wisconsin System Administration (UWSA), Office of Learning and Information Technology and the Academic ADL Co-Lab (a project partnership between the UW System, the Wisconsin Technical College System and the Department of Defense) are seeking candidates for an Associate Editor position (Working Title: Writer/Editor). This is a full-time Academic Staff position, renewable annually.

Major responsibilities include: All aspects of managing an online journal titled “Teaching with Technology Today (TTT)” http://www.uwsa.edu/ttt; Working with and heading an editorial board and with faculty interested in publishing work worthy of use in tenure decisions; Editing and writing the Academic ADL Co-Lab newsletter; Writing press releases and other occasional pieces for internal and external audiences; Assisting with research publications; Editor and contributor to grant and fund solicitation writing; and, Translate faculty use of academic delivery technologies to external constituencies.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Communications, or other publications-related field; At least one year of journalistic/communications work experience; Familiarity with current research in the field of technologies used to accomplish high-quality teaching and learning in a networked environment as well as some technical knowledge about distributed learning and web-publishing; Excellent writing skills and editorial skills;

Preferred qualifications include: At least one year of grant and fund solicitation experience; Skill/Experience in research and information gathering; Knowledge of HTML and Web design.

Annual starting salary will not be less than $32,263 and will be set commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus an excellent benefits package.
