Due to very busy schedules at the end of this semester, the LGBT* Committee decided to hold its final meeting virtually. As the Spring 2017 semester comes to a close, here are a few things to plan for in the coming weeks and to anticipate for Fall 2017:
- Preferred Name Update: the preferred name policy is set to launch for summer term, pending approval by the Chancellor’s Cabinet
- Safe Zone Training: final Spring workshop, scheduled for May 19th 12pm-2pm. Stephanie will co-facilitate with Dr. Julie Minikel-Lacocque
- Stephanie is working on the Campus Pride Index self assessment, contacting individuals in admissions for more information
- 2017-2018 Goal Setting
a. We discussed creating more visibility for our group as a resource and as allies.
b. We also discussed letting the standards set by Campus Pride Index to guide some of our efforts next year.
c. We may also carry-over the conversation about an IMPACT learning community.
