Brands of Awesomeness

This post is about my favorite brands. Yes, generic brands. Nothing specific. This makes it  hard to do. I forgot what a brand was too…which makes this harder. I’m going to guess it was something about a feeling products give you. That sounds about right. Here it goes.

Think Geek (www.thinkgeek.com) – I like to get random nerdy products a lot…and for this liking I usually go to this site. I like their products because they give me this “wow this is really geeky but it’s somehow more awesome than any regular thing” feeling. Confusing? Maybe, but I got an 8-bit tie there, and I really enjoy that tie. It’s red. I could have gotten a blue one…but I got the red one. Yes, I’m trying to increase the word count again. Fun stuff. Okay, next thing.

Pop Tarts – I couldn’t really think of another thing and then someone randomly suggested pop tarts so now that’s what I’m doing. I like pop tarts. They give me a casual, slacker way to start the day. So that’s the feeling it gives me. Slackerness! Is it good for society? No…but…I like to slack. Anywho, here’s a random frozen pop tarts commercial.

YouTube Preview Image

I only had one pop tart today so I am only half slacking. I am getting the blog done but I’m not going to add much extra stuff to it. So there. One more thing…

Adobe – I was going to put Macromedia for this but they were bought out by Adobe, so therefore I am putting that instead. Adobe gives me a feeling of trust and dependency. I have the feeling I can create any web based thing I want. Is that a feeling? I don’t know. I’m saying it is. Argue if you want. Not really though…I’m not in the mood…

Some Random Voiceovers

These videos may or may not be against copyright laws…but since YouTube hasn’t taken them off yet, I’m going to say they are okay. These are some voiceovers my friend and I made about 2-3 years ago. Two of them are of Pokemon, redubbing the first and second though fifth episodes, respectively. People on YouTube like them a lot, and since they seem to hate everything, I’d say we’re doing pretty good. The last one is of the lesser known Beyblades show. Beyblades were those stylin’ top things…remember? No? Well whatever, that’s why we’re making fun of how they had a show about tops. I was thinking about doing voiceovers of the Legend of Zelda show at some point in the near future. I feel so nerdy…and it doesn’t help that I’m wearing a Legend of Zelda shirt right now…but it’s okay, because my jacket covers it up…it’s a Pacman jacket…ugh…well I like it, so shut up. Here are the videos.

Also, in case you were wondering, Resop stands for Redubbed, Edited, and Somewhat Offensive Pokemon. It’s also Poser spelled backwards.

Company Information (Wooh…)

This post is about our company. Yeah, it’s…exciting…well okay, it’s a bed and breakfast. I had little choice in this matter. However, I do like sleeping and eating, so I guess it’s okay.

Apparently our bed and breakfast is called Starry Night Escape. Why? Stephanie said so, that’s why. Also it is perhaps because we wanted a fairy tale sort of theme and we also wanted it to sound fancy. I guess that works.

Our services are as follows:
1. Private Cabins – All with 1-3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and hopefully a bathroom.
2. Luxurious Suites – 1-2 bedrooms with whirlpool awesomeness and the other things listed in the cabins.
3. Basic Bedroom – With a king size bed or two queen size beds…or two bedrooms and you don’t have to choose. Good times…yeah.

The target market? Honeymooners, old people with massive amounts of money they don’t know what to do with, and business people who don’t like regular old hotels. Pretty much anyone with a lot of money to spend that doesn’t want to be social. That sounds kind of like me actually…except for the money part. Meh…

So…that is our company. I didn’t have much of a say in anything. I never really do. That’s why I don’t like people. Well, some people are okay. I’m just going to stop talking now.

Transitioning Into the Water That is of the White Color (Continued)

Okay, more rambling about my life. I can do that. I can ramble about basically anything. Right now I’m rambling about rambling…that’s crazy. So, onto my life of the past few weeks.

The past few weeks have been going much better than the first couple weeks. Why is this? I don’t know…maybe you can stalk me and figure it out. I am typing this in the quick post thing so now I don’t know how many words I have left to go. This means that I have to make this post extra long to make sure…or not…I don’t know.

I don’t know what else to say here so I’m going to break down how my classes are going.

Global Perspectives: The earliest and possibly also the hardest class I have. I’m not good at learning about such things…maps are hard…information is hard…but whatever. The last few days of that class have been relatively entertaining so I guess that works.

Philosophy: We got to do a debate where I guess my side unofficially won? I don’t know…I argued against God’s existence. I didn’t get smited…so I guess that’s one point for me. Smited isn’t a word now? That’s stupid…or this spell checker is…meh…

Database/Web Design Class Thing: We now actually have to start doing work in this class. It took me awhile to figure the stuff out because Microsoft is a jerk and has to give everything it’s own name. I got past it all though and now…I don’t know…I’m taking a break and doing this.

Sociology Race and Ethnic Relations Something Something Diversity Class: Since I couldn’t take English, Math, or Science for whatever reasons, I decided to get my Diversity class out of the way. We haven’t gotten much work in this class yet, so I’m liking it. We watch videos occasionally, so that’s fun too. I learned that everyone is a racist and we should all be ashamed of ourselves.

World of the Arts: Why is this class so long? This bothers me so…well…the Sociology one is supposed to be too but whatever. We had a quiz thing today…I think it went pretty well as I knew most of it. We also got out early, so that was a nice change. Then I finally got those tickets to things…what things? I’m not sure.

Super Swell New Student Seminar: Well this is the class I’m writing this for. It’s just swell. Super swell. Yeah…hopefully that will get me a good grade…I don’t know. Probably not, but hey, I tried.

That is all for this post!

Diversity

I’m getting all the boring posts out of the way right now. Yes, diversity is kind of boring. I’m not racist…I don’t know why I have to take a class about it…but I do. That said class is in two hours. I was supposed to read something…but I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I was also supposed to print out notes. Can you guess if I did or not? If you said yes, I did, you are stupid. Go away. No, not really. Keep reading. I’m lonely here. That made no sense…oh well, onto diversity.

YouTube Preview Image

I apparently need a video for this post so here is one. This is a borderline racist advertisement for Jello made back in the 1960’s. It just goes to show what is not acceptable in our society anymore. Now onto the real post.

Okay, I’m mostly going to talk about what we learned in my class so far, which is Sociology something. I couldn’t take English, Math, or Science for various odd reasons…so here I am taking diversity. Apparently the teacher is half black, or African American, or however you want to say that. He doesn’t look like it, but that is his point. People in Africa think Obama is white. Apparently Obama isn’t important enough to be added to the dictionary on here…awesome. That or I’m spelling his name wrong…embarrassing. Anywho, point here is, yeah, everyone here is saying Obama is the first black guy to be president. If you took a picture of him and put it with a black background…it would prove that he is, in fact, not black. He’s blacker than Bush was…that’s about all he’s really got. It’s unfair to treat people differently, good or bad, based on their race. A lot of this started because races were associated with class. White people were richer and black people were slaves back in the day. People didn’t like how former slaves were becoming richer and all of that, so more racism began. Personally, if I discriminate against anyone, it’s based on where they live, not what race they are. Black or white, if you’re a smart acting person, you’re alright with me. Now if you look like some gangster from the city, I might not be too sure about you. Fair? Maybe not…but I’m just being cautious. A lot of the time I’m right to avoid such people…as they are into drugs and all that…but that’s what my previous post was about. This is now significantly longer than the minimum amount required. We can’t have this. This post must end…right…now.

Abuse of Drugs and Alcohol Even Though Alcohol is a Drug and Need Not Be Mentioned Seperately

Again I am doing things before I should. This is really unlike me…usually I procrastinate to the maximum…maybe it’s because I like ranting? I don’t know. Well, here it goes. Abuse of drugs…

Now I have had some friends that have used drugs before but I will not mention their names specifically. This is not because I want to keep them looking innocent, but more because nobody who reads this would even know who they are. Personally, straight to the point, I think it’s stupid. We are educated about this stuff so many times…but people still ignore it and do it anyway. Why is this? I don’t know…maybe it’s because 90% of the anti-drug stuff takes place in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL??? Yeah, we want to get kids knowing these things at a young age, I get it. At the same time though, did anyone else notice how once we got into high school anti-drug stuff just stops? Sure we talk about it a little in health, but by that time we are just learning about what the drugs do to you in general, not how they are bad. If you say to students that drugs will give you hallucinations, they are going to think that they’re awesome and try them. If it weren’t for the massive terrible side effects, I would too.

Now about alcohol. Alcohol is a drug too…just in liquid form and legal when you’re 21. We can get drafted into a war we don’t believe in at 18, but we have to be 21 to drink alcohol. Good job America. I could rant about this some more, but I’m not going to, as it is not what this blog topic is about. Okay now, apparently here, people have parties on Thursdays??? I went for a walk one Thursday night and there were small gangs roaming the streets. It bothered me…just a little. My plan is to some day go to one of these said parties, not drink a thing, and film people. Later I would use this video footage as blackmail. Is this illegal? Maybe. But do you know what else is? Drinking underage! Ha, I’ve got them there. This is all a part of my scheme. Okay, it’s the only part of my scheme. I will think of the rest later, but I can assure you that it’s going somewhere awesome.

My Favorite Websites

Okay so I’m supposed to make this post a lot later but I really have nothing better to do so I’ll do it now. This post is about my favorite websites, as the title states. Okay so…here it goes.

st

Sugar Toast – This is my site that includes a lot of various games from the internet. Some of them are games my brother and I made. Play them people! They are fun and/or pointless. This site was made a couple months ago and it uses a lot of complex coding. Well it’s not that complex, but it is for me since I never really know what I’m doing. There are about 800 games on there right now. There would be more but I took out all the bad ones. Well…most of the bad ones. The most recent game we made is called Laser Crawler and it’s kind of challenging…especially the last couple levels. We’re probably going to make a sequel sometime soon because we spent so long getting everything to work right that it seems like a waste to just make one game out of it. Okay, enough about that site for now though.

randomthingstodo

Random Things to Do – This is my other site. It’s a lot more simple than Sugar Toast is. How it works is people will submit random things to do and they get added to the site. They are then randomly generated and you can pick how many you want to see at a time. If you get really bored you can actually try to do them…if they are safe. Submit something if you want. Don’t go against the rules though or it will get deleted…maybe…but I’m not totally sure on that.

Okay now for some sites I did not make. I’m going to skip the generic obvious ones such as Facebook and YouTube and go for some ones people might not know about.

Virtual NES – This site lets you play a bunch of classic Nintendo games within your web browser. They actually run really well…and somehow the owner of the site managed to make it so that all the games are actually legal to play…I think. I have links to a lot of the games on Sugar Toast.

Bash.org – This is a site full of quotes from IRC chatting, which is a kind of instant messenger for those of you who don’t know. If you’re looking for quotes from random people with an odd and nerdy sense of humor this is the place to go. Not much more to say about this one…I just like it.

That’s all the sites I feel like mentioning for now. I’m really tired…

My Transition into the Water of White

Yeah, this post is about transitioning into college. Why? I don’t know. That’s what I was told to write about. So I will, and it will be a great and epic rant. Well at least a 250 word rant…as that is the minimum amount needed. Actually now it will be more like 200…I wonder how long I can talk about the word count until I actually have to start writing something. Alright, I’ll stop now. Onto the transitional experience.

I found the first day of college very awkward and upsetting. I dislike people telling me to do things…and there was a lot of that with moving. It was not fun. After that, I realized I didn’t really know anyone here. I talked to my roommate online previously so at least I knew him…but wait! He had to leave to go to his air force thing! Now not only was I lonely but I also felt like a slacker for not being in any military based training experiences. The next day involved doing a lot of random activities…and in case people aren’t aware of this…I don’t like doing random activities. I don’t care how fun they are…I don’t like them. I’d rather slack.

The activities were meant to get me to know people. Yeah, I guess I kind of did…but…I came to realize that these weren’t really the people I wanted to be friends with for the most part. If you people are actually taking the time to read this, I mean no offense to you. I don’t like sports. A lot of you do. That’s fine, but that also means that our general interests are quite different. The entire week went by with me not talking to that many people. My door was open…people could have talked to me about stuff…but they did not. Whatever…it’s their loss.

This week things have been starting to get better as I have discovered that Arey has more floors with more people I can relate to. Yep, that’s right, I totally just insulted my floor. It’s too high up and tiring to get to. Aside from that, yeah, the people here are nice. Maybe too nice? People say hi to me and ask me how I’m doing and I barely know them. I am not used to this. Maybe it’s because my old friends and I would always shout each others names at each other instead of saying hi, I don’t know. So I guess I will end this post here as I have now typed a whole lot more than the needed about. I am kind of liking this blog thing…I would type another but right now I must go to a class. It’s the class that took art and turned it into educational reading. Not fun. Alright, that’s it for now.

Whoa It’s the First Post

This is the first post. It has no real purpose other than to tell people that it is, in fact, the first post. It makes the next post less special as that post will not be the first post but the second post. Second is never as good…unless it involves something bad. Though in such a case, second really isn’t that great either…because you’re still one of the first people to have to experience this bad event. I’m rambling now…as I often do. This makes blog posts very easy to complete in a speedy fashion. That is all that must be said for now.
