According to a recent blog post by Ben Seidel, Facebook is launching a brand-new app to compete with snapchat. We’ve already seen Instagram try something like this by incorporating the story feature of snapchat, but Seidel mentions that this is a separate app than Facebook.

Traditional news has begun to rely on social media to promote their nightly newscasts, according to a blog post by Dan Mahoney.
Mahoney examines an article about how nightly newscasts use social media video, and live-streaming, to promote a nightly show. In this article, the use of social by traditional news is discussed as well as the ways in which users of social media interact with these promotion videos.

I was looking through my classmate’s blog and found an interesting blog post by Nicholas Martin about people’s perception of trust in the media. He stated that the perception of the media is at an all-time low. But, he mentioned that this is good because it makes people more skeptical and critical what they read in the media.
