AV Checkouts offers a multitude of equipment for students, faculty, and staff of UW-Whitewater to checkout. From HD and Mini-DVD camcorders to wireless microphones, portable audio recorders, and video projection equipment we have it all. Checkouts need to be made through our online form located at http://av-checkouts.uww.edu and students will need to have a faculty sponsor to check out equipment.

On Wednesday, July 29th at 7am the look of the Podcast web site (http://podcast.uww.edu) will be changing. You should experience no changes in functionality. Aside for an aesthetic change, you will still perform tasks the same way. When the new site is launched, the new look will be reflected in existing documentation.
We are also working to expand our presence in iTunes U for both public, and private (course, departmental) purposes. If you are interested in podcasting for the upcoming semester and have content that you would like to share with others through iTunes U, let us know.

Course services, such as blogs, podcasts, wikis, geturl (web addresses starting in http://geturl.uww.edu), Feed2JS (used to include podcasts and RSS into courses and this site), will be unavailable on Thursday March 26 from 5:00 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. for storage maintenance.

To serve you better, iCIT Audio Visual Equipment check-out is moving to the Media Lab inside the Andersen Computer Lab beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
Faculty, staff and students can now request equipment at http://av-checkouts.uww.edu using their Net ID. Users are strongly urged to make requests through this web form as the voicemail line will no longer be checked regularly for equipment requests.
The Faculty Sponsor approval process will also change. Sponsors will receive automatically generated email requests for approval when students request equipment through the web form.
Equipment can be picked up and returned in the Media Lab, Andersen 1008-C.

The campus data center will be shut down on Wednesday, January 14 from 4am to 7am to complete electrical work that is part of the Data Center renovation project. The work will require shutting down all servers and services. Affected services include, but are not limited to:
- Campus email
- Campus Internet Service
- Wired and Wireless Network Access
- All UW-W hosted websites
- Novell / Network Storage
- WINS / TouchNet
- Blogs, wikis, podcasts, Instant Messaging
- VoIP
- D2L may still be accessed via https://uww.courses.wisconsin.edu
If any services are delayed past 7am, iCIT will communicate this information via email and the SysStat web page, when available. You may also contact the Helpdesk at 472-4357 or helpdesk@uww.edu for the latest information.
This work is necessary to integrate the new air conditioning and fire suppression systems with our data center Emergency Power Off system.
