On March 19, Microsoft released a new version of Windows Internet Explorer, version 8.0 (IE8). iCIT is starting the process to test campus systems for compatibility with IE8. When testing is complete and compatibility is verified, iCIT will notify campus and will begin the process to automatically distribute IE8 to campus workstations.
It is possible that campus web-based systems, such as D2L or PeopleSoft/WINS, may not function correctly using IE8 at this time. iCIT recommends that people refrain from upgrading Windows Internet Explorer to version 8.0 on their home computers until campus system compatibility has been verified.
When will the testing of compatability of IE8 be done?
