For today’s Film in Review, I’m going to be reviewing Jordan Peele’s second horror film, Us.

Introing the film, we meet a family who is going on a vacation in Santa Cruz to the mom’s childhood home. Upon their arrival they encounter a group of doppelgangers who embark on a night of horror.

For today’s, Film in Review, we’re going to be taking a look at David Yarovesky’s Brightburn.

Today we’re going to be introducing our “Series in Review,” section of the blog. Kicking it off, I’m going to be talking about one of my favorite Netflix shows of 2018, ‘The Haunting of Hill House.’

This netflix original features a family who buys an estate known as Hill House, the most haunted house in America, in efforts to renovate it and flip it. The family consists of the dad, the mom, and their five children. The kids begin to experience their own encounter with a paranormal entity, each adding a layer of horror to the plot.

The spookiest day of the year has finally arrived. With Halloween night drawing in, here is a list of 10 movies you should binge in the spirit of all things scary. Did I mention all of these are available on netflix? Happy binging friends and Happy Halloween!

For today’s “Film in Review,” I’m going to be discussing Ari Aster’s Midsommar.

Midsommar immediately sets itself up as a melodrama with a dark atmosphere. However, by the end of the movie, it turns itself on its head and unravels as a creepy, fairytale of sorts. The premise of the movie is that a group of Americans travel to Sweden for the summer traditions known as “Midsommar,” and unsettling events start to take place upon their arrival.

Most people think slasher when they think of horror films. From I Know What You Did Last Summer to Chucky, slasher movies have been a staple in the horror genre. So today, I’m going to be ranking the Top 10 scariest slashers from the least to the most horrifying. Who will be number one?

For today’s “Film in Review,” I’m going to be discussing the latest blockbuster to hit theaters, ‘Joker’.

Over the weekend I went to the release of Todd Phillip’s ‘Joker.’ It is certain that Joaquin Phoenix’s interpretation of the prince of crime is different than any we’ve ever seen; some are even referring to it as the best one to date.

For today’s “Film in Review,” we’re going to be discussing a movie that still leaves a cold chill down my spine whenever I think about it, and that is Ari Aster’s Hereditary.

Now, I’ve consumed a lot of horror related content in my 22 years on here on this big blue ball of misery. I can say without a fraction of a doubt that Hereditary was the hardest one to digest; and I mean that in the best way possible.

The topic I plan to discuss on my blog is horror movie reviews for college students. This blog will aim to not only discuss a wide variety of horror movies, but also provide suggestions tailored specifically to college students based on style, topics, release dates, and streaming options.

I have always been passionate about filmmaking, and horror is one of my favorite genres. I have seen a wide variety of horror movies over the years and cannot wait to discuss every detail, including but not limited to the plot, atmosphere, casting, storytelling, setting, and methods used to induce fear. Some of the content I could see myself producing for the blog are comprehensive movie reviews, comparisons/competitions of movies based on scoring in different categories, reviews of different streaming services/platforms and how good they are for fans of horror movies, “Top 10” lists, and “Movies to binge this Halloween.” My intended audience will be primarily college students or college-aged individuals. I will achieve this focus by using my perspective as a college student myself. Overall, this blog will primarily focus on the unique reviews of horror movies, but it will be tailored for and targeted at college students and college-aged individuals
