October 19 – November 15
Opening reception: Thursday, October 19 from 5-7 pm
This exhibit examines the latest work by a seemingly divergent group of artists. The individual artists are reaching a state of mature production and have collectively exhibited in numerous national and international venues. The tie that binds this group together is an intense interest in the experience of painting. The manipulation of paint on canvas that creates an engaging space for the viewer to explore is evident in all the work. Stylistically the paintings range from minimalist formal compositions to robust figurative works. Another informal aspect of the exhibit involves an investigation into the role of the visual artist in the early part of the 21st century and what the artists might consider to be indicators of success. The artists will be present at the opening reception to begin the show with an informal gallery talk.
