Neue Sachlichkeit, or New Objectivity, is a form of German Expressionism, the powerful art movement that took place between the two world wars. German paintings, drawings and prints on paper created during this era will be selected from the Fishman Collection, one of the leading collections in the world of its type. Additional pieces will be selected from the collection of Kevin and Margaret Kinney, Milwaukee collectors who are also noted for the strength of their holdings of German works.
Guest lecturer Corinne Granof, Associate Curator of the Block Museum of Art, Northwestern University, spoke on February 28.
