These two UW-Whitewater graduates have excelled in their individual art careers, finding success in national and international exhibits. Karen Gunderson lives and maintains her studio in New York City. She will be displaying a series of her “black paintings” which feature historical royal figures along with the drawings she used to create the final works. David Bushman is a Professor of Art at the University of Illinois at Champaign. His portion of the exhibit will feature works that he describes as intending to convey as virtuous, the psychological qualities of excess, opulence, indulgence and general hedonistic philosophy. The creative work of both will be highlighted in this special invitational exhibit. Funding for this exhibit has been provided for by the College of Arts and Communication Visiting Artists Program, and the Alumni Association.
