It was with great pleasure that the Crossman Gallery presents this exhibition honoring Karl Borgeson upon his retirement from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Karl Borgeson began his academic career as a student in the business program at the University of Minnesota and transferred to St. Cloud after testing and evaluation showed an affinity for art. He began his studies there as an Interior Design major and planed to pursue that path and continue as a graduate student. Fortuitously, after two years there, a number of new faculty members were hired as the school grew in size. One of the new professors was a ceramist and Karl took a hand building class that he responded to very positively. Borgeson observed, “Students are what make the program. There has never been a time when there have not been students that I was excited about. In 32 years there were always students graduating and new students coming in and it has been great to see the new potential. I could not ask for a better job.”
