SEAL Presents: Django Unchained

Tonight SEAL will be showing the hit film Django Unchained at the University Center in the Summers Auditorium.

Django Unchained is a 2012 American western film. It is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Christoph Waltz.

The film is set in the antebellum era of the Deep South. It portrays the Old West feel as it follows a freed slave (Foxx) who journeys across the United States with a bounty hunter (Waltz) determined to rescue his wife (Washington) from a ruthless plantation owner (DiCaprio).

Despite the controversy over the film’s strong use of degrading, inappropriate language, it received astounding reviews from critics and was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture.

SEAL Movies are shown on Thurs at 10pm, Fri at 7pm and 10pm, and Sat at 7pm. Student admission is $1 with a student ID or $3 without.

Sweet Revenge – The Original Sour Mash

Sweet Revenge is a new 77-proof liqueur. It is a blended sour mash whiskey with fruit flavored syrups.  The drink is a show stopping shade of hot pink that will look fabulous in the hand of any girl. Don’t be fooled by the bubbly exterior, Sweet Revenge has a raw and bold 77-proof finish.

This new liqueur was recently introduced in early 2012. It is manufactured by Charles Jacquin et Cie, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company’s target consumers are young, outgoing women; however, it’s hard for anyone to resist the drink’s sweet, citrus taste. Sweet Revenge is best served straight as a shot or on the rocks with lemonade or lemon-lime soda. Follow Sweet Revenge on Twitter or Like it on Facebook to learn more about the original sour mash.

Comedian Samuel Comroe Comes to Whitewater

What do you get when you cross Stand Up Comedy and Tourette Syndrome?  Give up? The answer is Samuel Comroe.

Comroe is a young, 22 year old comedian who turns his life story about living with Tourette Syndrom into a hilarious comedy set.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA., Comroe started working on his career as a comedian when he was a junior in high school.  He would do performances in the school auditorium during lunch.

Today Comroe finds his comedic inspiration through his every day life, relations, and observations.

Comroe will be performing on Thursday, Feb 7 at 8p.m. in the UC-Down Under. If this Wisconsin weather has you feeling down, Comroe will turn your mood around.
