The following mission statement has been developed by the committee to support international education in the College:

College of Education
International Education Mission

The mission of international education in the College of Education is to encourage students, faculty, and staff to become members of an international community of educators who are committed to the development of human potential throughout the world. In providing a program of international education the College seeks to graduate students who will engage with and respect other cultures, be sensitive to commonalities and differences among and within cultures, and have the ability to understand multiple perspectives through reflective practice.

To accomplish this mission, we support a cohesive and dynamic approach to international programming in the College including:

• Internships, field placements, practica and student teaching abroad
• The enrollment and support of students from around the world
• Faculty development and faculty exchange programs
• Study abroad and travel study programs for students, faculty and staff
• International program development and delivery methods
• A curriculum rich in international and global content
