AWESOME JOB & NOW your facilities do indeed match your level of education I received at Whitewater. You are absolutely spot on regarding the culture shock as graduates enter the “real world” as a graduate of 1988 I can attest to this exact feeling. My husband graduated 1990 from your top ranked accounting program and experienced culture shock first hand as he begin his career at E & Y (Arthur Young back then. I am reminded on a daily basis of the excellent education I worked for at the UW-Whitewater as an Associate of Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) in Atlanta. It is obvious I was provided a higher standard of education than my “southern” friends! In fact I am reminded that the first question fellow students and graduates asked at Whitewater was “what is your degree in?” NOT how is your football team doing….If I would have graduated in 1988 and came directly into my work environment at CCNA I can assure you I would NOT have had the POLISH or professional acumen necessary to excel at my career. Seeing your new facilities should provide your students with a tremendous advantage into what the work place environment is all about. Communication is KEY. Utilizing today’s technology to leverage efficiency and effectiveness are essential however, never ever loose sight of personal face-to-face communication. The new business building should put this fact front and center. One of my managers at CCNA also graduated UW-Whiterwater….yes what are the odds. We both have tremendous Warhawk Pride. I have never desired to return to school until I saw the video for the new business center…..if only winter did not exist! Oh, and we have a kick butt football team — Go Warhawks 2009 Champions (power of positive thinking).
