There have not been any confirmed cases of swine flu in Wisconsin as of Monday afternoon. Campus officials are monitoring the situation and will look for guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Our University Health and Counseling Services has already placed information about swine flu on its Web site. The information can be found at http://www.uww.edu/uhcs/whatsnew.html
Currently, we have two students studying in Mexico. I have been told that at this time both are fine.
We will keep you posted on this important situation.

Monday evening, I had the opportunity to attend the Disability Advocacy and Awareness Coalition (DAAC) Banquet, recognizing those who enhance the lives of people with disabilities. I thought you’d enjoy these photographs from the celebration.
Earlier this week, Tuesday, April 14, I attended the Annual University Reception for Emeriti Faculty & Spouses in the Hamilton Center of the UC. I thought you would enjoy viewing these photographs.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to throw the first pitch to start out the baseball game at Prucha Field. Despite my inauspicious efforts, the Warhawks went on to defeat Carroll University, 16-6 and 9-3.


Joe Chambers, National Player of the Year for the eight-time National Champion UW-Whitewater Warhawks team, threw out the first pitch in softball. The women’s softball games ended in a doubleheader sweep of UW-Platteville, winning 10-0 and 9-0.
