I’ve enjoyed the last several days. On Friday and Saturday, a large number of alumni celebrated “Back to the 60s,” attending a fish fry on Friday, a reception at the Coulthart Family Pavillion, our first home football game, and an evening dinner and dance. It was great to meet a number of people with fond memories of Whitewater and an attachment to the campus.
The Letters and Sciences golf outing on Monday was warm, sunny, and windy. A large number of alumni and friends turned out for the pre-round breakfast, the golf, and an impressive silent auction, emceed by Michael Gesas. L&S golf outing committee co-chairs Jude Fogarty and Ron Binning coordinated an enjoyable event. The L&S Alumni Scholarships, created with funds from last year’s outing were presented to Jenny Kurlinski, Joshua Smith, and Thomas Zimmerman. John Madison awarded his scholarship in honor/memory of Jack Filipiak to Elizabeth Kunz. Tony and Erika Prater presented the Prater Scholarship to Seth Kemmeter. Todd Wilkins announced his new scholarship in memory of his son Michael Steele Wilkins.
