Career Expo – September 30, 2009

This year, there is a new addition to the Hawk Career Fair.  Employers will be running breakout sessions while the career fair is going on.  The Hawk Career Fair will be taking place Wednesday, September 30^th, 2009, in the University Center (Hamilton Center and Ballroom) and will feature around 85 employers. 

The breakout sessions are available to everyone.  For those who are attending the career fair, the sessions can be a way to have some extra time with the recruiters and also to receive advice straight from the recruiters.  You don’t have to attend the career fair to attend the expo.  Underclassmen are strongly encouraged to attend expo to learn some great information and to start building connections with recruiters (aka: Networking!).

Manage Your On-line Image – Spreenkler  (12-4pm)

            Work one-on-one with Spreenkler reps at their drop-in booth throughout the Hawk Career Fair (12-4pm).  They will be offering advice on how to manage your on-line image (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and how important that image is to success in your job search.

Spreenkler is a Milwaukee-based company that is revolutionizing creativity. They have specialized services for graphic design, social media, website development, marketing campaign planning, and grassroots marketing.

            Get tips about talking with recruiters before heading into the fair.

            Discover how to look for that perfect job.

Federated Insurance is a provider of business insurance to several different industries including: auto dealers, jewelers, printers, building contractors, etc.

 

Developing Your Personal Brand – M&I Corporation (1:30 pm)

            Learn how to market yourself for your job search.

M&I Corporation, headquartered in Milwaukee, provides diverse financial services.  M&I is one of the largest banks in Wisconsin.

 

 Business Etiquette – Enterprise Rent-A-Car (2:00 pm)

            Tips on being professional with recruiters, prospective employers, etc.

 Networking – Northwestern Mutual Financial Network (2:30 pm)

            It’s not as scary as you think.  Learn about talking to other professionals and then check out the recruiters at the fair.
