Planned Data Center Shutdown on 1/14: All Servers & Services Affected

The campus data center will be shut down on Wednesday, January 14 from 4am to 7am to complete electrical work that is part of the Data Center renovation project.  The work will require shutting down all servers and services.  Affected services include, but are not limited to:

  • Campus email
  • Campus Internet Service
  • Wired and Wireless Network Access
  • All UW-W hosted websites
  • Novell / Network Storage
  • WINS / TouchNet
  • Blogs, wikis, podcasts, Instant Messaging
  • VoIP
  • D2L may still be accessed via https://uww.courses.wisconsin.edu

If any services are delayed past 7am, iCIT will communicate this information via email and the SysStat web page, when available. You may also contact the Helpdesk at 472-4357 or helpdesk@uww.edu for the latest information.

This work is necessary to integrate the new air conditioning and fire suppression systems with our data center Emergency Power Off system.
