Casual Joe’s – Barbecue and Beer

Being a man who loves beer, is a college student, and lives in Whitewater, there are only certain places that I truly enjoy sipping on a cold one. Casual Joe’s is a barbecue and bar joint located right downtown next to the railroad tracks. The casual orange is unforgettable, just like the delicious barbecue you can get. In addition to the amazing food, Causal Joe’s does an amazing job at rotating in and out beers from the tap list. Coming to Casual Joe’s to get the famous barbecue and enjoy a couple of beers with my friends is one of the most fun things to do in Whitewater while being a student. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by if you are anywhere near the...

Beer & Cheese Pairings

1. Blue Cheese + Imperial Stout 2. Goat Cheese + Saison 3. Milk Cheese + Brown Ale 4. Epoisses + “Brett” Beers 5. Cheddar + IPA Author of the book, The Brewmaster’s Table, Garrett Oliver, has put together a list of the top five beer and cheese pairings. Being a Wisconsinite, I grew up loving cheese. Lucky for my, my home state is a pro at the two things that I love and the two things that this post is all about. This list of pairing is using categories of types of beer and cheeses, because of the similarity within each category. To read the full article, click the link below. Full...

Good Beer Hunting For this week’s content, I thought it may be refreshing to take a break from my own personal take on beer and direct you to a website I have found called Good Beer Hunting. Not only is the name of this company frickin’ fantastic, so is everything about them. They are a design agency that specializes in breweries. For example, if I were to start a brewing company, I may hire Good Beer Hunting to help me with my website, logo, advertising, and basically everything about running the brewery as a business. Separate from the work they do in that sense, Good Beer Hunting also has a section of the website labeled “b-roll.” This is obviously their blog. It is amazing. Although the entries are fairly short, each entry has a beautiful picture to go along with it. I could seriously go on for days about this website and describe each part of the company, but I think it best for me to simply place the link below and let you see for yourself. Happy surfing! Good Beer...

Karben4

This week, I would like to feature one of the breweries I have mentioned before – Karben4. The company brews one of my most favorite IPAs, Fantasy Factory. The brewery is located  on Madison’s east side near Madison Area Technical College. The unique logo and packaging by the company is a true reflection of the type of brewery they are. To me, Karben4 stands out as a uniquely fun and innovative brewery. They never cease to amaze me with the taste of the brews, and the labels and boxes they have are always the first ones that draw my attention while beer shopping. I have yet to make it to the brewery itself, but there is no doubt in my mind that I will enjoy myself when I do visit. Visit their website for more information about the company and its beer....
