At the start of this semester, we began by discussing the history of communication and the relationship between the user and the communication itself. We continued on venturing into theories and making sense of the definition of innovation and we’ve now come to learn what it means to be users of technology. These are the technical topics that we touched on in this course this semester, but what did we learn between the lines?

Learning about the inner workings of the user and technology relationship teaches us how to be responsible and educated users. Many people take advantage of, misconstrue, and misunderstand technology.  Some of these lead to kinks that take a while to fix, while others may lead to solutions to problems larger than life. Everyone is affected in some shape or form by technology and learning how to attack its many vague realities can be tough, but when you understand why technology can be a double edged sword, you can utilize them in the most efficient way possible.
